I want
I want a summer home on the water.
I want to holiday with friends and family, have cook outs and clam bakes.
I want my kids to run carelessly in flip flop and swim suits.
I want it to be easy.
I am not seeing a summer home in my near future. Our life does not go on hold during the summer, there is still work to be done.
We go to summer concerts and picnic outside. We play in a blowup pool and the sprinklers. We swim in the pool at our gym.
I am thinking about starting a summer supper club. We can get together with friends, let the kids play, have dinner, drinks and conversation.
I want to embrace the summer, enjoy it and create memories. I want create that beach house feeling with out going anywhere.
Ideas.
What do you do to make summer carefree.

I like your thinking ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour ideas sound great. Turn your own home into the summer home you dream about. Hang up cool lanterns on the porch, get some tiki torches, and a plastic pool for the kids. Buy some cute little umbrellas for your drinks and find your island paradise.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous idea. I'm totally with you.
ReplyDeleteSummer to me is all about lounging around, eating ice-cream and the smell of sunscreen.
We don't own a pool, but the kiddie pool is always up and ready to be played in!
I love the idea of making your home into a summer home, even if it's one night a week. I agree with Jenn - and suggest buying some potted ferns or palms or something and setting them around the house. Brings the tropical-outdoors-in!
ReplyDeleteYour ideas sound great! I love the idea of your summer supper club. I'd come. :)
ReplyDeleteSummer to me means barefoot. And nothing says beach house more than flip flops at the door. If you don't already, how about a rule of taking off your shoes at the door.
I always think of the make-your-own Tupperware popsicles or those Freeze Pops too. Those say summer has arrived to me too.
Love all of these :D The supper club sounds like an awesome idea! Love that you're setting out to do all the summer things at home! Seriously, that is the cutest idea. Can't wait to read all about it!
ReplyDeleteI love the supper club idea - I want a carefree summer too! Visiting from FTLOB!

I was just thinking about this the other night. I think I'm going to buy a bunch of greenery and fairy lights and make our covered patio into a candlelit summer night oasis! Wow, I got all excited there. Now all the hard work to do it...
ReplyDeleteVisiting from FTLOB :)
