what's next

I am not training for a marathon, I am not cooking a baby, what should I do?

For the past two years I have either been training for a marathon, cooking a baby, or taking care of a new baby while remodeling a house and moving.

I am not in training, I am not making a baby and I am not moving, I don't feel like I have any more time but I do feel like I am ready to create a new challenge.  A new goal.

So here we go:  I will get stronger faster and leaner.

Yes, I know that goals are more achievable when you put specifics behind them.

My next half marathon will be faster (half because a full is further out) and I will be smaller while I am running it.  Does that count as specific? I know I should have dates, numbers and a plan but I am not quite there yet.

I would rather be making a baby or training for a marathon but oh well.

Hopefully announcing to all of you will keep me motivated and make it happen.

Happy Monday,

  1. I think that is pretty specific, and I think that the numbers will work themselves out. Congrats! It is a great set of goals.

I feel like all I did for several years was be pregnant, breastfeed, and get pregnant again. I probably could have used the marathon training to keep me sane! :)

  2. That's my goal as well. Want to keep each other accountable? :)

  3. Yes, yes, yes Amy! Lets make a plan... Do you want to do the Parkway Half? Then maybe another one a few months later?

  4. i think ill get leaner with you, but i might not run a half, but will cheer you on. PLEASE BELIEVE THAT

  5. Nice plan! I have the same sort of weird, no goal, what should I do with myself feeling too. And just this morning I told Sarah that my goal is to do Parkway faster. Probably not that big of a coincidence that you and I have a similar goal. :)

  6. I like that goal. When I looked to 2011 my goal was the fastest half marathon I could run & my first triathlon... I needed something to work towards.

  7. You sound just like me. I am always cooking a baby or running a marathon. Fortunately, we are done with the baby thing and there are only 10 days until my marathon. Maybe then I'll be able to focus on something else! Good luck with your goals!
